Jr Beta Service information
All new members are required to earn 50 hours of service. Only 10 hours are accepted from each "project". This is to ensure that each member is participating in more than one project per year. Our club encourages you to work outside of the Beta club set projects, but again we have to limit what can be counted towards our reward trips. This is to encourage each Beta member to be involved in the activities we set up for you. You must work at least 5 hours in the concession stand to be able to go to convention.
Also, in order for ANY service hours to count you must have a picture taken of you doing the service activity. This includes both individual and club service projects.
Please turn in all pictures in to Mrs. Hull (there is a place in her classroom to do so).

Jr Beta Service Tracking form
Please print the form if you did not already receive one at the meeting. If you need more, you may pick one up from Mrs. Hull's room.
All hours must be signed at the time of work/service. Also, be sure to turn in your pictures as you do the projects. On the back of each picture be sure to include: your name, service activity, and the date.

Ideas for Service in YOUR SCHOOL Community
Remember you can always earn hours by serving your classroom teachers! Our teachers work very hard for students and almost always have something that you can do to help them out! All you need to do is ask! (remember to take pics!)
Approach your teachers about what you could do to help them out. Make suggestions on your own....Do they need help cataloging their classroom library? Do they need their room cleaned and straightened up? Can you file some paperwork for them? Can you help with a bulletin board? Also, Mrs. Hull can always use an extra hand after school with something related to Jr. Beta - so come by and ask if you can work.
If your teachers don't need anything, I can assure you that your Librarian does! Ask her if you can help shelve books for 30 minutes after school or offer to clean and sanitize tables and shelves. Another idea is to offer to clean the computer labs - you might check with Mrs. Butts on this one.
Be creative in your ideas for serving others in our community of Pottsville. If what you are doing makes a difference in someone's life for the better and you have done so out of the kindness of your heart, rather than expecting payment, you are exemplifying what it means to be a member of Jr. Beta!
